How to compute

  1. Subtract the birth year from the assessment year.
  2. If the assessment month/day falls before the birth month/day this year, subtract 1 from the years.
  3. Count complete months since the last birthday the same way; leftover days are the days figure.
  4. Record as years;months — partial months always round down.

Worked example

Born January 10, 2021 · assessed June 5, 2026 → 5 years, 4 months, 26 days → record 5;4 (total months: 64).

Edge-case rules

  • Month-end: the one-month anniversary of January 31 is February 28 (29 in a leap year).
  • Leap-day birthdays are observed on February 28 in non-leap years.
  • Count only complete months; partial months round down, never up.
